The Truth About Erythritol đŸ˜±

If you've been following along on my no white sugar journey for Lent...I'm not Catholic, I just like the idea of 40 days of meditation, reflection and abstinence...you know how intently I've been reading my labels.

I already do this at the grocery store but due to an insane schedule as of late, I've been eating out a LOT more than normal.

Which means, white sugar has found its way back into my body and we need to quit that asap.

So in my quest for more intentional label reading, I wanted to address some new research that's coming out regarding a very popular 'natural' sweetener touted as 'better for you' than sugar.

We're talking about Erythritol.

If you've swapped out white sugar sugar for erythritol thinking it’s a healthier move, especially if you’re still enjoying carbs, this may cause more damage than good.

Yep, that “keto-friendly” sweetener is now being linked to blood clots, mimicking Sickle Cell disease. Studies—like this one—show it can spike platelet activity, upping clot risk, especially in those who eat a high-carb, high-fat Western type of diet.

Are there better choices?

Sure.

Allulose can be beneficial. But I've found some clients, and myself, experiencing gut inflammation/bloating after eating it.

So I say, why risk it?

Go for real, clean sweets instead.

Choose raw honey, real maple syrup, or just plain fruit.

Our bodies are meant to process real, WHOLE foods.

Not ultra-processed, toxic substances that pretend to be food.

And if you need some help cutting back on sugar cravings, try Adaptive Greens to help detox from the cravings or Adaptive Cacao for a sweet treat that's made from whole, clean ingredients.

Ditch the sugar, eat REAL foods, and notice how much better you feel!
